How to pick your next amiga/compatible
« on: December 01, 2010, 07:14:02 PM »
Hot on the heels of this thread, I just spotted something over on moob that cracked me right up!

It has to be said that there are rather a lot of options opening up; classic 68K, emulation, PPC, x86, OS4, MOS, AROS. Someone has devised a simple process for cutting through the confusion.

It's a bit big:

Only one problem with chart, if you go classic and ppc only option amigos4 and not morphos 1.4

the chart needs some serious reality check, for instance i own an a4k with csppc and would *not* recommend buying os4 for that. actually i would reccomend waiting for aros 68k instead.

Well actually it is quite balanced to the 4 major camps, so I don´t think it´s trollbait. It is however inacurate. (It doesn´t favor OS4 - else it´d have at  least one branch that reads: "buy a SAM" or "wait for the X1000")

I get AROS and/or modern OS with UAE, which is about what I thought.
