Using an A600 hard drive with 1.3 Kickstart
« on: November 09, 2010, 01:30:02 PM »
Hi there,

I've run into difficulties getting my A600s hard drive to be recognised when using 1.3 on my ROMswitcher. I have extracted the scsi.device driver and followed the instructions to alter the startup of a Workbench 1.3 disc, however when trying to boot I just get a device not recognised error.

Anyone have any ideas what to do?

Cheers!

Phil

EDIT:

I don't know if it makes a difference but I made the scsi.device from the 3.1 ROM on the 600. I also have a PCMCIA card if it's any easier to get 1.3 to recognise that.

I assume you installed, partitioned & formatted the harddisk in Workbench 3.1 right? If so I think you will need to copy the 3.1 version of FastFileSystem to the L dir on your 1.3 boot disk. You can find the FastFileSystem file on your Install disk.
