I use several of the Cocolino adapters and they're by far the best for the Amiga, I've never tested one on the A1000 but I don't see why they wouldn't work as the main driver software is contained in a PIC chip on the device itself.
The only problem you may have with the A1000 is the Cocolino.driver prog that gets run during the startup-sequence but this driver is really just for scroll wheel compatibility...
