Wheel button mouse not working
« on: November 02, 2010, 06:39:02 PM »
Hi,

I've recently acquired this adapter on eBay. Seller has told me that according to another buyer, the wheel works properly using the command wbm (which I have placed in MAIN:C) but I haven't managed to get it working neither under Dopus nor Workbench although right and left buttons work perfectly.

I've just placed the command wbm QUIET on startup-sequence, right after iPrefs but the wheel doesn't work. Do I need to set up additional parameters?

I've tried two different mouses but none of them works ... I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Manel

Wbm needs a cable connected to the joystick port. Does your adapter come with such a cable?

Wbm is here: http://aminet.net/package/util/mouse/WheelBusMouse
And the adapter is probably this one: http://aminet.net/package/docs/hard/ps2m

Try FreeWheel from Aminet, works 100% with the Cocolino mouse adapter... :)

http://aminet.net/search?query=freewheel

Hi,

Yes I read about additional cable on wbm documentation but my adapter comes with no additional cables (see the link).

I'd better ask again the seller...

Mine is this one : http://cgi.ebay.fr/Amiga-USB-Mouse-Adapter-PS-2-USB-Brand-New-/120633103673?pt=UK_VintageComputing_RL&hash=item1c164b1539

And Wheelmouse is working with both wheelbusmouse and Freewheel

in user startup : c:wbm reverse mmb quiet
and Freewheel icon in WBStartup

but both joy/mouse connector must be plugged ! if only mouse is plugged .. no scroll.

Hi Foul,

I bought the adapter from the same seller but mine's only an Amiga mouse 2 USB adapter, so is lacking the "bridge cable" that you have connected to the joystick port.

According to him it's possible to use wheel without plugging any extra cable in the joystick port; he has told me that he would check it next weekend and will come back with a solution.

Hope so, if not I will ask him to change my adapter by one like yours ;)
