New Cool Amiga 3D Models For AC3D's Free Screensaver
« on: July 14, 2012, 03:32:34 PM »
Remember, this is for IBM PC compatibles but I know that there are many of those that started on an Amiga so it is for those Amiga lovers and besides there is now an IBM compatible PC that is an Amiga so now it is for Amiga too.

I made a 3D models mod package with Blender 2.63a that includes 75 different 3D models in the .ac format that are designed for the freely available AC3D 3D screensaver program for PCs that you can get here:

http://www.inivis.com/downloads.html

This screensaver only offers simple rotation with selectable speeds in either of two axes but it is very cool to see one owns 3D models as screensavers. It only has 3 default 3D models but with this mod package you will have many more alternatives.

Among those many models in my package I made 22 that are Amiga related that include Amiga logos, several Amiga Boing Balls and even one that matches my Regenerating Nostalgia wallpapers Amiga version and one that matches my newer Rainbow People wallpaper Amiga version.

You should try the Amiga ball with the grid box. I made it so at the default 1.00 zoom factor of the screensaver it has a gray box with purple grid lines rotating around the Amiga Boing Ball (there are some versions that even have transparency in the ball) and it is not a bouncing Boing Ball but I think that the effect looks kinda cool :)

There is more info about the package with far more details in the included PDF documents and it includes my tutorial of how to do models for the AC3D screensaver with Blender 2.63a correctly.

You can download the package here at Deviantart:

or in this Mediafire folder:

You Amiga fans should try the package, I think that the Amiga 3D models will bring back some good memories. There are instructions of how to install them (it's very easy) in the .zip file too.

If your graphic card offers high quality anti-aliasing they will look very, very nice.
