Oktagon SCSI Controller -> external cases
« on: September 15, 2010, 02:49:57 PM »
Hello!

I've got a Oktagon SCSI (or smthng. similar) controller in my A4000. external connector is 25pin d-sub female.

Question: can I use this to connect to external cases with 50pin SCSI connectors? The cases have 50pin internal and external centronics interfaces.

Regards

Yes you can.
Please refer to manual to de-activate onboard termination and to activate termination in external device.
And you need proper SCSI cable of course.

Ok, thx

To be sure:

I just would need this to get amiga to the cases?
And then centronics -> centronics to go to next case(s) and the last one I would need an external terminator?

Another quick question:

There are many 80pin SCSI HDDs here on ebay.
There are adapters 80pin -> 68pin/50pin.

What do i need for the 80pin exactly? M/F?? For 50pin i need M, as I plug the ribbon cable in there.

So two answers:

What 80pin M/F? does 80pin HDD have and what connector would I need therefore? M/F?

THX!!! :hammer:
