I call this an urban legend. It didn't take the XOR patent for Commodore to finally meet its demise. There was plenty Commodore management did wrong, if they wanted the company to stay in business (see my little comment on the amigaworld.net thread).

I would have to agree, a company will not go broke over a violation of a simple patent issue some amicable agreement could have been reached.

From what I heard Commodore paid vendors late & grinded you down on price (A JAck Tramiel tradition)  so when judgement day came no stepped in to save the day. I mean compaines file for chapter 11 reorginiaztion all the time.

Its amazing what the US patent office will grant a patent on.
