I agree! More people need to know about these more recent Amiga games and online games. I get so lonely sitting there on Dynamite all day and night waiting for someone to join the server and blow me up.

Dynamite can be downloaded free from this site - http://amisource.de/dynamite/

They have heaps of different themes/styles to install as well. Just install the game, run it and it'll open on your Workbench screen, connect to one of the servers, and enjoy bombing the hell out of your fellow Amigans online Bomberman/Dynablaster style!
Amiga user forever.

Thanks :-)

I played it, it's nice with a "new" game that actually can run in my workbench screen mode!

We had six people online, battling just earlier! I think Dynamite is becoming a little more popular again now that people are getting their Amigas online, or using AmigaSYS through UAE which comes with Dynamite installed.

I took a screenshot between battles, you can see all six people online at the time (it shows Wayne is taking time off at the moment). I was running this game on my A1200 030/28 with 32MB RAM, and as you can see I had a whole load of other programs running at the time, with a bunch of tabs open in IBrowse too, and still not running out of memory. :)

Problem is that things like dynamite would need continously advertaising, to get more players. It is fun and well workign game.

There is lots of "old" amiga news what would need more attention all the time, active developers, released ports.

Some news are fresh even after months. Relesed ports or other software releases should get more attention. Latest rumors etc are noticed in day for those who are interested and discussed continously day after day EVEN whitout advertaising and still they aren't news after a day.

Yeah, I think we'd have an easier time finding players if we had organized times each week where we all try to log in and play for a while. Luckily this time I noticed some others on IRC mention the game, so I told my friend and we both went online as well.

But I guess if you want to try and find excuses not to play it or why it's a bad idea, go ahead. The rest of us will keep having fun playing the game. We don't care that it's not a new game anymore, it never stopped working and never stopped being loads of fun, even when it's just a couple of bots to play against, at least it's a game I can play on my Workbench while I'm online on my A1200.

I really don't see the point you're trying to make here. If you think something needs promotion more often, actively promote it! If it drops out of the public eye and you think it needs more attention, bump the thread! What's there to complain about?

And since it is a MUI application, you can also run it on its own screen if you want :)

dynAMIte was/is a really fun game. There were lots of players on the servers all the time when it was more new. It was pretty crazy when it still wasn't in public state... those complete days wasted for god knows how long perioids :) We had all kinds of IRC scripts/bots etc running for it...

But I liked it more when it was little more simplistic. Some time after public release it got more bloated and lag started to get worse. Haven't played it for some (ehm.. almost ten?) years now then :/ At some point other players seem to disappeared too.. no more full servers all day long... maybe it would need some organized dates for competitions or something like that now :)

well Rutin is a veteran and extremely hard to beat, he knows all the tricks and all the maps (yes really), so playing against him is really frustrating !

I used to play on saturday evenining vs wayne and rutin, it was fun (but frustrating :-) )
