I have been digging around in my stock of Amiga stuff. I found a amiga 500 with something in the trapdoor and i am wondering what it is. There is a flicker located on a side of the amiga to turn it on/off but seems to be brokehttp://www.vsunion.com/Billede0011.jpgIf anyone know what it is, can it be turn on by the jumpers instead?
So there should be a way to turn it on with those 2 jumpers maybe? i could test that with launching workbench right and checking if there is more Chip or fast ram in it?
It`s a Vector 512kB A500i and that Battery dosent look too healthy.http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/vector505
The battery is probably only for the clock, yes, but If that battery has leaked over the tracks and stuff on that circuit board then it has probably knackered the whole thing.
Just cut the battery terminals for now. And just get a new switch for a dollar, there's only two wires anyway so it's no big deal to just swap out the switch.
