Compatibility of CF cards generously provided by Nlandas?
« on: March 13, 2010, 08:36:07 PM »
I am having some problems with the iOmega 64 MB CF card when using with my new Amigakit CF adapter.  (I am also having trouble with my other CF card brand.)  Has anyone successfully or unsuccessfully used the iOmega CF cards with the Amigakit CF adapter?  With my OS 2.0 A600 and my OS 3.1 A600, the problem is the same -- there is no icon showing for the CF on the Workbench screen.  I don't know if the problem is with the CF card, the adapter, or my installation of the Amigakit software provided.

I got a few of these cards from Nyles previous give away on Amibay.

When they arrived I tested them all out (20+) before I passed them on to the required people in the UK.

All worked without fault.

Are you sure that you've got everything set up correctly?

No, I'm not sure at all.  I went back and forth with Amigakit and they were not able to offer any solution.  They claim that all adapters are fully tested before they ship to customers.  They now suggest that I buy their 4 GB card to fix my problem, but I'm skeptical (now even more so).  I did get a DOS error 520 (whatever that is???) on both my A600 machines at the end of the installation of their ADAPCMCFL software.  I let them know about it under my support ticket, but they did not address it.  Any thoughts?  I'd really like to get this CF thing working.   Thanks.

Know nothing about the Amigakit version, I installed the Aminet version and I'm using both NLandas CF without an issue.

In both my A600 and 1200.:)

BTW: Aminet programs are just CF.device and FAT95.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

OK, the adapter works with my A1200, but I cannot get it to work with either of my A600 machines.  I wonder if there's something wrong with the Amigakit software with respect to the A600.  I'll have to contact them on it.  So there's some Aminet software to install for CF card use? (not just for making ADF?)
