Best way to copy whole CF to another.
« on: February 26, 2010, 09:59:07 PM »
Is there some kind of method I could use since I have a 4 GB CF-HD and i'm upgrading it to 8GB one, and I would like to copy the whole content of the card to another one. I don't have CF card reader on PC, so I'm asking is this  doable with only  A1200 ?

Thanks
A1200, Blizzard 1260 + 64mb, Indivision AGA, Subway USB, 8GB CF-HD, PCMCIA network card, OS 3.9.
And a couple of A600\'s :).

You can use EasyADF's backup feature.  With a few clicks you can backup a whole partition to an archive.

Full backup tutorial is here:

Doubtful, but that statement needs to be qualified. Is there no HD? If so and it's large enough: simply copy the CF cards contents to it and re-copy once you get the new card. If you have a 4-way buffered IDE adapter and the appropriate IDE<>CF card adapters, you could copy stuff over that way(assuming the card was formatted as a HD, but not sure if that's the case with PCMCIA<>CF Cards anymore - I could never get the PrepCard utility to work on my machines). Otherwise, get yourself a CF card reader for your PC! They aren't much these days.
