It's been a long time since I did this, someone will correct me if I'm wrong, and I probably will be.  I installed 7.5.5 on it's own HD under Shapeshifter.  I think my first hurdle was getting the archives into the Mac emulation.  Shapeshifter provided a utility (forgot the name) to share files between the Amiga and the hardfile. I think that I made a second, larger hardfile and copied everything from the first to it.  I also DL'ed a copy of Stuffit and DiskCopy, available from most Mac sites.  If I recall, DiskCopy allows the "disk images" of the 18 or so install disks (the DL'ed archives) to be installed on the desk top.  When executed, the image of disk 1 runs an install script.  Sorry I don't remember this more acurately, but maybe it's still useful.

  This ended when I upgraded to an 060 which Shapeshifter didn't seem to like.  When I found a source of cheap used Macs,  there was no need.

Good Luck

@Gav

I have a Hardfile of my own with Mac OS 7.5.5 on it and i have used it with both Shapeshifter and Basilisk II. A Hardfile is basically a Mac Hard Drive file (well duh!) with the OS installed on it. Anyway, if you are interested then post/email or pmail me and i will give you a link to download it (email wise). I hope that this helps.

@ Tenacious

Some time ago I had problems booting from SS when I upgraded to 060. Here is a brief explanation on how I resolved the problem (it's all about the tooltypes, and keep in mind to use the 1MB Mac ROM).

@ Gav

For transfering files between AMiGA-Mac you'll need to mount the Mac hardfile/partition, using the mac-handler found in the SS drawer. You can mount the Mac hardfile only while running the emulator on the background.

In the System 7.0.1 drawer I found the readme files:
Quote

System 7.0 (Disk 1 of 8 - Install 1)

Copyright 1983-1991 Apple Computer, Inc.

The enclosed file is a self-extracting archive of a Disk Copy 800k disk image.
To use, download, decompress, and use DiskCopy to create a disk.

The same goes for the latest MacOS free-update 7.5
It's been a long time since I've done that for last time, but all I remember is to have disk space for the images, the rest is done automatically ;-)

P.S. I just saw that you use Basilisk! The whole proccess described above is for SS. If the hardfiles are compatible (I think so), use SS to create the hardfile, and then boot with basilisk.

@ Cass

Thanks for the info.  I was always curious how fast a Mac would be on an 060.  When it stopped working I was very disapointed.

Has anyone got Limewire to run in Mac emulation on an Amiga?

@Gav,

Pmailed you as promised. The link is there as well. I think you would copy the contents of Hardfile to a seperate Mac Partition (under 4gig), all in Mac emu.
Hope that helps.

060 is not guilty to stop Mac emulation. I run Shapeshifter, Fusion and Basilisk with 060.

Yeah! 060 + Blizzardvision = very fast and reliable Mac emu! :-)

@Gav,

I emailed you the link again. Hopefully it should work this time, i tried it for myself and it worked. I can't understand what could have possibly happened.
