Supply and demand=market value.

I have a P1 on a card, perhaps that's worth a lot of money too?

Perhaps it is. If it's an SBC then it could be worth a fair amount, as supply is low and demand is moderate.

If, however, you're just trying to say that a P1 on an accelerator card is the same as an Amiga accelerator card, then I'd strongly suggest reading up on basic economics....

Supply of Amiga card = very low. Demand for Amiga card which is fastest CISC Amiga CPU - very high.
Supply of PC card = very high. Demand for PC card which is horrendously slow compared to fastest CPU - very low.

Now which of the above do you think is worth more money?

It's kind of like saying an Aston Martin DB4 is worth no money because it's slower than a Golf GTi (which it is, more or less). Try going to an Aston owner and offering him a grand for his DB4 and see the response.

I believe my bid was a bit higher than $375 but your reserve was so high that it didn't matter.  Nobody else would bid higher so my bid didn't matter which was my point.  It wasn't that the board wasn't worth what you were asking, it was that you had it listed in such a way that you couldn't get the amount you wanted.  $600 is really getting close to Top Dollar for a TekMagic.  To get that amount you need more than one person wanting it bad at that moment (and the stars must be perfectly aligned).  You didn't have that.  You didn't even have one as my interest in it was as a back-up as I already own one.  I bought mine on EBay probably a little over a year ago and it come in an A2000 with a graphics card, ram card, etc.  It also came with a ton of software, a keyboard and mouse, and  two monitors.  I think I paid around $400 plus shipping.  I saw an A2000 on EBay about a year ago with a WildFire card and I think the guy wanted $600 and it didn't sell.  That having been said I saw a Conceirto sound card sell about a month ago for $315!!  So anything is possible.  That card usually sells for $150 tops.

I hope you get the amount you want for your TekMagic.  I know I like to get top dollar when I sell things.  Everybody does!  I just think that if you want to get $600 for it it would have a better chance of selling for that if you started it at .99, or if you put a buy-it-now price of $600 on it.  Everybody likes to know that when they place a bid that it counts for something.  In a high-reserve auction many bids are meaningless.

I'd actually say demand for an old pentium is higher. A very small amount of todays computer users ever used amigas for anything other than a games console, and the total number of computer users in 1994 is a mere fraction of today. One person i've spoke to was very surprised his A500 was actually a computer. He was actually wondering why they put a keyboard on it "when none of the games used it". He was also surprised it came with a mouse.

In comparison, a few of my friends use pentium 1/windows 98/crt monitor setups even today. That way they save to money thats better spent on beer and guitars and things, and they can run modern web browsers and word processors to boot.

The daft cost of accelerator cards or the amiga market is quite simply, dumb. These systems are far outclassed in ability and ease of use by even the most crap celeron system, the one thing that they are actually useful for is games. Remember, £10 snes.
A1200 Computer Combat. OS3.0. No accelerator, no fastram, mouse soon. And ebaying it.

Are you actually being serious are are you just trying to wind people up ????

Whilst the Amiga market is probably over-priced , it is what it is.

And there are millions and millions of pentiums, mobos and pentium 1 cards out  there.  There are wworht f all.  I have re-cycled so many its not funny. Only an idiot would pay for a pentrium 1 card/chip/mobo

There are probably 1 or 2 thousand working 060 cards out there.  mmmmmmmmm let me think how does supply and demand work again.

I wonder why things made out of gold or platinium or so expenisve compared to things made out of iron.
