AresOne - big price cut
« on: February 10, 2010, 08:48:01 PM »
Since there is no need for a Soundblaster live anymore, we could lower the price for the base System!
It includes Amiga Foever (OEM), A-live X with free (printed) Icaros desktop DVD and costs now only 339,90 Euro.

Thanks goes to Davy Wentzler for adding support for ALC888-audio-chipsets. Thank you Davy.

The AresOne is AROS dedicated and affordable PC. The mission is to boost AROS- development and get more apps. Also its like a "hey look here, this is possible with x86 - you should try it to" - message to hyperion : )
Most money, not only those 25% i spoke about before will be reinvested in AROS and not only for AresOne exclusive. Be prepared for some big bangs this year!

I'm still looking for coders!

Regards,
Pascal Papara

Wow, things are looking up for Aros. I hope to buy one this summer. I am not for sure how to get one to the U.S.

Yep the post on my blog is a little bit older : ) First there was another pricedrop of 20€. In Total we could reduce the price from 379,90 to the 339,90 stated on www.vesalia.de . This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of amiga in Essen, Germany. If you would visit, you could take one with you : ) Otherwise just ask vesalia if they now a cheap solution. The box is not as heavy as you would think.

If I had a regular income I would get one (or donate 350 euro straight to AROS) :-/

You could earn one:
http://aros-exec.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=36506#forumpost36506

the media center part is already filled.

Hope you get a good job soon (not only that you can buy a AresOne :) )

What exactly would you like to get as a kit? (Mainboard, case+cpu+ram+Grafic card+Software?) If you could send me a list or even better send it direct to support at vesalia dot de - i think its all possible.

Regards,
Pascal

What I am seeing with Aros is sound and ethernet needs drivers. With Ares the sound is onboard and you have a sound driver. I am not for sure about the ethernet.
Barebones, I belive, have case, power supply, motherboard, processor, keyboard and mouse and maybe a floppy drive.
Video and memory and hard drive would complete it.(Oops Optical drive)
A hard drive with Aros already installed and compatable with the board would be nice, if sold with just a board and processor.
I guess it is possible to sell a kit with everything but un-assembled if someone wanted it that way.

Onboard-sound and Ethernet are working! You get a flashed Mainbaord with the latest Bios(supports some CPU's more)
Just contact Vesalia about this. I see no technical problem in selling the parts this way, don't know what the calculation will tell us : )
For sure i would not allow to sell them the Parts without A-live X because this would mean that some money for further development would be lost.
