CacheCDFS and uaescsi.device
« on: January 20, 2010, 04:04:23 PM »
Hi I installed OS3.9 on a hard drive and the connected the disk to a real A1200. I now have got everything to work BUT during startup a windows titled Cache CDFS opens compaining that it can't find uaescsi.device. This is a bit annoying because I have to cancel this every time I start up. I have searched a lot and checked the tooltypes of every file with CacheCDFS in its name but I can't find where this is coming from. Ideas please!!

Check Devs:dosdrivers for a file called CD0, CD1 etc. and move it to Dhx:storage/dosdrivers.

If you don't have a CD-ROM attached on your amiga 1200, then you have to go to the sys:devs\dosdrivers and move the CD0 or Emergency disk icon to sys:storage\dosdrivers.

When you have a CD-ROM attached to Amiga 1200, then you need to open that file in a text editor and change the the device to your corresponding device, For example you have an Blizzard 1230 IV with SCSI kit and a CD-ROM. The device needs to chang to 1230SCSI.device. With SCSI CD-ROMs you have to know the Unit number of your CD-ROM.

Hi thanks for the replies. Hmm unfortunately I dont think thats quite it.

I think I didn't explain properly. I installed the OS from WinUAE and uaescsi.device is a device for UAE only I would guess.

I have the cd-rom connected and it is working under this installation and I have already edited cd0 from icon->information and it works ok.

The problem is the window titled Cache CDFS opens complaining that it can't find uaescsi.device during startup. Certainly CD0 is not set to uaescsi.device. I can't find what is.
