Installed CyberGraphX 4.0 and can't see a thing
« on: November 29, 2009, 08:29:57 PM »
Hi

I've got a Retina Z3 / Indivision AGA in my 4000 and decided to give CyberGraphX a go over Picasso 96. This is starting from a fresh OS 3.9/BB2 install so no Picasso 96 files are present.

I installed CyberGraphX onto my CF card in WinUAE (choosing Retina Z3) but, when I place the card back into the 4000, I have 2 issues.

1. I have to turn on the Amiga then do a soft reset to get it to what I think is 'booted' (see 2)
2. When I think it's booted I don't see anything from either the Indivision output or the Retina.

The Amiga is connected to a DELL 24" 2405FPW flat panel so I believe I may have selected an incompatible frequency setting upon installation (I chose the one in the 50s..can't remember exactly what it was).

So my questions are:

1. Why does the Amiga need a soft-reset to boot now?
2. What frequency should a flat panel user choose?

All this works fine in Picasso 96 so I'm certain it's not a hardware issue.

I would just uninstall CyberGraphX but I have no idea how to do that :p I can, however, access the OS in WinUAE if I only knew what to delete.

Thanks

Most LCDs need 60Hz or higher vertical frequency. When I installed CGX4 on AmigaOS 3.9, I didn't get it working properly until I updated it with the latest patches which you can get here. Hope that helps.

Your Dell LCD syncs vertically from 56Hz up (looked it up), the same as my Samsung. For me for example standard PAL at 50Hz is a no go, because of that. Of course, you're using a graphics card and I don't have a clue what screenmodes it offers, but make sure that you're using one that has at least the 56Hz vertical frequency.
