I would like to get a scandoubler for my A4000T - unfortunately, Indivision is not an option, so I have to look for another solution. Which one would work best with my system? I want to use the scandoubler to play old games on a CRT VGA monitor.
Thanks!
If you just want to play old games a cheap Arxon scandoubler will be fine.
The best flicker fixer for A4000T may be comperv FlickerFixer II it's true 24bit, can show all amiga resolutions like SuperHiRes overscan (1440x576), supports HighGfx screenmodes (1024x768) and even doubles DoublePAL if you want. On the other side of the ring we have PicassoIV flickerfixer, it doesn't allow SuperHiRes to be shown but has programmable pixel clock so you can show normal 50Hz PAL at 50, 60, 75, 100Hz so it's more useful for TFT monitors. If you live in USA and you use NTSC I would go for a compserv FlickerFixer II. It will show all resolutions at 60Hz and even provides a composite video output :-)
Jens Schoenfeld opened a thread to see how many A4000T owners would pre-pay for a flickerfixer from him specifically designed for A4000T. I own both A1200&A4000D versions and these are simply the best flickerfixers I have ever touched. If you are prepared to pay in advance for it I would reply in the thread or write him an email. An Indivision A4000T would be a dream come true.
