I hope it works. :-)
This is going in a 2000 with a gvp 68030 board. I think I need the janus software, right? It also looks like ne2000 boards are visible from the amiga side with the right driver.
I have a 16-bit adaptec scsi isa controller and a 16-bit isa ide caching controller. We'll see if either of those work. I just need to figure out where to mount the hard drives inside. Man, the 2000 case really sucks. Maybe I can cook something up from a donor case.
I have a 16 bit sound card also. I just need to find a vga board now.
I seem to remember 386sx upgrades that plug into 286 sockets. I'd like to try that, but I think the sandwich board is in the way. And what is the sandwich board for anyway?
So many questions. thanks
brian
The XT Bridgeboards were crap and worthless, the 286BB were a little better, but it would have been nice if you could have found a 386sx Commodore BB, or a 386sx, or 486slc Golden Gate BB as those can be upgraded to 486slc x2/50MHz speed, which is the fastest Bridgeboard speed you can get, AFAIK. I have a couple, but have had trouble getting one set up again after years of not being used. I haven't given up on getting one of them working though as there are few things in the Classic Amiga world cooler than having one Amiga running AmigaOS3.x + MacOS7.5 (or higher) + MS-DOS6.22 all running simultaneously. With the faster Bridgeboard at 486slc/50MHz I might even try to get Windows95, or Windows98 running on it.
Edit: I might have read once long ago of someone being able to get a BB up to 486slc/75MHz speed, or it might just be a faulty memory. Does anyone know if PC-Task4.0 runs well emulated on AmigaOS4.1, or MorphOS2.4? It would be interesting to see if there was a large increase in performance when using the extra speed of a 1GHz to 1.5GHz G4 PPC to run it.
