ScummVM Hardware requirements / tweaks
« on: November 12, 2009, 11:13:24 PM »
hello guys

i want to run scummvm decently.
so what i've got now is a A4000 (see my signature) with 68040 25MHz, now i also got a CV64 gfx board recently.

problem is the sound especially the music (adlib emulation). i thought it was the AGA gfx slowing it down badly, but it wasn't.
the soundquality and stuttering is THE SAME. not even slightly better with that gfx board.

now my question is, if someone here got it to run with decent adlib sound emulation (8000Hz would be enough for quality)

is there a possible tweak in AHI settings? should i set another paula-mode (using 8bit DMA)?
what about adding a soundcard to my system? would that solve the problem?

regards

PS:

get scummvm here:
 http://freenet-homepage.de/uweryssel/scumm_en.html

some free (demo)games here:
http://www.scummvm.org/demos/

i tried it with non-interactive indiana jones IV demo and dott demo. i know an AGA fixed special scummversion is out for that, but i want to play other scumm PC-version games too!

i would appreciate someone could test it with same CPU and a soundcard (toccata?).

yes, hi! surely great work, will try that later.

but my question was another!
my interests are for many other pc scumm VGA games too! f.e. atlantis...
and if adding a soundcard would work that problems out?
