It's middleware for making games and applications.  It has it's own virtual processor and programming language so you only have to write and compile your app once and it runs on many* different devices.

If it sounds like it could be something you'd like to try I'd suggest investigating alternatives such as EdgeLib.

*Windows and Windows Mobile.

Amiga Anywhere it's what I do: I bring at least an A600 to play with when I'm travelling... :p

Amiga Anywhere was supposed to be a library that ran on Tao Group's Intent.  Tao Group went bankrupt and was reborn as Antix Labs and they appear to be selling a more modernised version of Intent on their website:
