OWB problem on SAM...
« on: August 11, 2009, 01:07:46 AM »
So I setup a new SAM board with 4.1 today.  OWB was working fine.  All of a sudden every time I launch it it Gurus. DSI error.

So...do I need to reinstall the OS?  Made no major changes...

Oy

I have been wanting to experiment with the SAM but funding has been an issue in getting one, maybe later when things are looking greener :).  I have no knowledge of either the SAM or OS4.1, but you can take a look over at the Amigan.net.   I believe they have quite a few folks that have SAM's running OS4.1 that could assist you.

Have you changed the tooltypes of OWB, or moved the binary? Did the problem start precisely after you changed your screen resoulution? Is OWB on its own screen? Does it start with a blank page or a given URL? Have you tried the URL (or any other page) in IBrowse?

How much RAM is installed in Samantha .. 1GB machines had some trouble with the last OS-Update. Do you use a big wallpaper? Have you changed your USB-Setup (e.g. are you using a new hub)? Are you starting OWB from AmiDock? What dockies are in your Dock?

I´d look into these sort of things. I am using OWB 3.15 on a daily basis and it is quite stable. I don´t think it is rensible to reinstall the OS. You could remove some stuff you installed in WBStartup or User-startup maybe?

Norway is correct, the version that ships with OS4.1 guru's. You need the latest version and also the expat.library.

Just delete the OWB folder and install new version.

The first time it had a problem was the first time I attempted to launch it from AmiDock.  I then removed it from AmiDock, but even launching it from the Workbench window (as I'd done before) still causes a problem.  Did AmiDock do something to the app?

Ah, that might be the first time I ran it since the QuickFix...  That must be it.

Indeed, after the quickfix, it kills OWB. Once you update OWB, it runs fine. Dont forget the expat.library to.
