Amiga 2000 hardware help

Hey guys , I just recently picked up two very well equipt Amiga 2000's
Is there any software out there that helps catalog what hardware is installed?
I know theres prob a scsi card in both , memory addons ect and one of them has a faster processor

I have been out of the loop for a long time and never owned a 2000 to know the hardware well.

WhichAmiga, ShowConfig, opening the case and using your eyeballs. :-)

I prefer the last option myself, usually it's written on the cards.

I agree with Jope. Opening a 'new to you' Amiga for the first time is much like opening a present on Christmas morning. The Showconfig program might help out too if you're not sure what you're looking at. Oh and please be sure to let us know what all you have inside those puppies! Kickstart, mobo revision, MegaChip, Toaster, misc. cards, etc.

Well I know there is a 2630 and one has a 6.5 motherboard.

No toasters yet but all kinds of other stuff

6.5mobo... than you likely have 2.xx Kickstart roms or maybe even 3.xx.

Is there anything in the video slot... to the right of the power supply? Might have a Microway FF/SD in there  :-)

You'll need to take the top off to check if the battery is ok.

Look on the motherboard near the mouse/joystick/keyboard connectors.

Bite the bullet and open the case! You must check the battery condition - and with the case opened, you can easily tell what's in there.

I've got one of those.  It's kind of crappy.  Is it a sought-after item now?!

Generally speaking, any FF/SD is desirable on an Amiga. Especially those that find it difficult to land working 1080's or 1084's.

The Microway FF/SD *IS* kinda crappy though. Noisy, doesn't handle PAL well, etc. But I've got a Fitty dollar bill if you'd like to part with it ever. Chicago is not too far away from me...

Silly me.  I always thought that an Amiga 2000 was an Amiga 2000. :crazy:

My A2000 is a rev 4.5
What disadvantages do I have vs. a 6.5 rev?

When I called Microway, circa 1989, I asked them if it worked with PAL and they said "No.  It is not compatible with PAL" so I said "Well, it is quite useless then."

LOL! Good answer. I would have felt the same way. BUT... back then, NTSC software really was more prevalent than it seems it is today. Either that, or we're spoiled now by all the great Euro software that came out in the early 90's+.

Ok , here is what I gathered so far from the one unit.
Amiga 2000
2 mb chip ram
16 mb fast ram
68030 40 MHz CPU card
50 mb SCSI hdd
SCSI cdrom
Two dd floppy drives
External RCA genlock
Bigfoot 300w power supply upgrade
Kickstart 3.1 rom
Amiga os 3.9
SCSI zip 250

The 2nd unit has the PC emulator card and another scsi internal hard drive.
