LHA with transadf
« on: June 01, 2009, 08:55:36 PM »
Hi - I have an amiga 600 with HD using workbench 2.05 - I can transfer adf files ok using transadf but when I try to unzip LHA files using transadf it doesn't seem to work.

I choose a location on the hard drive but when I go there the files are not present.  I changed the view settings on workbench to show all files rather than just icons but still I can't see the LHA files.

Basically all I want to do is transfer LHA files which enable me to install original games to hard drive as my originals are obviously very old and I don;t want to keep using them.  Could anyone help!

Ok - have now changed to using workbench 2.1 and having a bit better success.  Sorry to be a bore but I will just explain what I am doing and where I get problems

1. I click on EasyADF which loads from disk
2. I click on top right box to "show LHA files"
3. I select "kickoff2.lha" file
4. I then select "uncompress LHA archive" which now becomes available
5. I then save to RAM disk
6. I then click on LHA icon on ram disk
7. LHA prompt box appears and i type  LHA x myadf.adf HD0:

at this point i get the following message;

cannot open mathieedoubbas.library version 37. lha failed return code 900

can anyone help??

if you select "execute command" from the workbench menu and enter

version libs:mathieeedoubbas.library file full

what result do you get?

If you get an "object not found", then you are missing this system library all together. If it returns a version older than 37, then you have a version problem. You might need to use a different version of LHA.

If it gives a version number >= 37, then I'm not entirely sure what the problem is at this stage...

You should have the file, it's part of the normal AmigaOS 2 installation.

Dont click on the LHA icon in RAM disk.   EasyADF controls de-compression entirely.

We can email you a new version by email that will fix this problem for you.

We cannot distribute mathieeedoubbas.library as it is an Amiga copyrighted file but we can add it to the Boot sequence to make it resident in memory from your OS 2.1 disk.

Arghhh!!!! - Thanks for emailing me the adf file - unfortunately my amiga is now no longer recognising the pcmcia  CF0 storage device - when I boot up my old transadf disk it states no disk in CF0 - I also no longer get the icon when I put the memory card into the pcmcia slot  - I reformated my disk as previously this sorted it out but still no joy -

I checked the mount cfo file and it states cfo already mounted.

anything else i should check

Brilliant got it all sorted now - can now extract LHA aswell.

I checked prepcard and released that the card wasn't fully in - Doh.  Thanks Amigakit for a great service.

Maybe a pin bent or some condensators has just started to leak on the motherboard.

@amigaboy

Hope you like the new features of EasyADF- you can now double click on an LHA file and view all the contents of the LHA archive without decompressing it.  Then you can extract specific files or all files.
