Dr. Michal Schulz
« on: February 19, 2007, 06:13:55 PM »
In the C= - Escom era, there was Dr. Peter Kittel.  Today, in the AROS era, we now have Dr. Michal Schulz!  Congratulations to Michal and his family, he has achieved his Ph.D.

Congrats!

He is the programmer working on the AROS USB and X86-64 bounties. His doctorate has been taking up alot of his time and rightly so. Now I hope he will have more time to work and finish the bounties.

Michal has been involved with AROS since before I joined in 1999... and it was his hard work which got AROS booting Natively on the IBM-PC compatible.

I remember booting AROS for the first time, all it would do is give some debug info and then load up an intuition screen... at which point it would promptly crash. After a bit of work, it stopped crashing and would open a little window which you could move around with the mouse...

Some of Michal's other achievemnts wer ethe IDE drivers and the Nvidia/ATI graphics drivers...

So Michal has done a huge amount for AROS, and still managed to work on his academic work.

Err... Could he be writing papers on cryogenics? Or perhaps on a sailing voyage to Cape Horn? Or maybe running a short film competition?  :-)

Err... as you can gather, I don't know!
