Given that Steffen Hausser recently said that OS4 would be ported to Pegasos "when hell freezes over", I see no reason whatsoever not to have a pop at OS4.

The point is that this OS4 lunacy has come to a head on the printing of CDs - that people are literally saying that a nondescript employee of a random CD manufacturing plant would want to steal a copy from the batch of pre-release CDs.

Likening the event to the initial release of Halflife, one of the biggest games ever, and was highly reviewed at the time, for a very large platform base?!

Let me try and give you one.

In their present state both AmigaOne/OS4 and Pegasos/MorphOS are deeply niche solution. Both need to be adopted by new users to survive.

To the outside world both solutions look pretty identical. The problem is the same. How do you get x86 users to come over to ppc?

In this situation I would suggest that having a pop at any ppc solution is tantamount to cutting your own throat. Still, I suppose it's your throat to cut.

True, but the Pegasos is a hardware product, and
we have our own software solutions we can sell with it if we choose.

Eyetech and Hyperion are different companies selling different things, but tied at the hip in ways that may not suit either company.

If someone wants a PowerPC solution, elegantly designed by some real platform experts, then the Pegasos is one solution they've all going to have seen and are able to choose. I didn't see anyone from Mai or Eyetech at SNDF or any other show where the primary focus was PowerPC processors.

The Pegasos is not a niche solution - and Eyetech had better hope that the AmigaOne ITX is not a niche solution. Both are reference platforms - Pegasos for PowerPC in general, and AmigaOne for the Articia northbridges.

Depending on what the developer wants to do (either PowerPC development - Pegasos perfect choice - or Mai Articia development - AmigaOne best choice) they have two relatively well proven routes to go down.

Again - I don't see the people who make PowerPC processors ordering AmigaOne boards or signing them off as official reference platforms for the processor.

Allow me to point you to the FujiFilm Minilab, a machine I am quite familiar with.  It is not by any means a "niche" solution, yet not even 10,000 of them have been produced.  These machines are found everywhere, from Walmart's to Wolf Cameras.  By your definition of "niche" you would exclude the most produced photo-finishing machine on the planet.  As everyone that takes snapshots needs them developed, a good percentage run through a Fuji built minilab.

Second, how soon with the Micro Amiga be out, and how much, what are the specs?

 Third: Does Amiga MAME suck or what? Everytime I see it in use, they are playing some old crap like 1943, as opposed to S.T.U.N. Runner, Jurrasic Park, Aliens 3, Golden Axe II, Metal Slug 4, or something a bit more hard core like that?
Also it is always in a freaking window, can't it go full screen? Minor gribe, but one I had forever on BeOS. Please don't tell me it has BeOS like issues with full screen.

 Forth: What Musick program were they using in the video?

 Fifth and final: Why does it take so long to draw out hi-res images?


 Nice quality video, I was hoping for more of a oral demonstration though... the intro musick sounded like a Orientation Vid for McDonalds or Amway or something though.
