That depends on your 3d chipset and Cpu power ofcourse. but here on a BPPC 166 with bvision
are nearly 600 fully rendered/textured/lightmapped polygons possible.

ofcourse those 600 polygons are in frames
so the engine can make 600 to 1000 polygons per frame so they are 12000 to 15000 polygons per second.
