I only wonder if I missed these or if there are really no pictures available yet.
Especially some more shots of the A1Lite would be nice...

There was an agreement for photos and video footage to be sent to Doug Moir for use on a web-site presentation, so hopefully we'll see something soon.

Also, good to note that there is corporate interest in the Zico specified systems, especially the small ones.  Names weren't mentioned, but I think I know who they might be.  David Pleasance made a lot of what is still driving the Amiga market in this country.

To prove my point, I remember a few years ago the Victorian TAB (betting agency) upgraded their kiosk and customer feedback screens from A500s to IBM PCs.  The beauty of the A500 network was that if you're terminal crashed, you simply reset it, and it catches up almost as soon as the floppy stops.

Because they converted to a completely new architecture, they had the insuing problems of ironing out bugs, and they obviously wanted it all done before the Melbourne Cup.

On Cup day, the ENTIRE system crashed for HOURS and over AU$3 000 000.00 of possible revenue COULD NOT BE COLLECTED.

Many of the other companies, I've noticed, seemed to have waited more patiently, keeping working by buying old stock.  Now, they can buy these new super-mini boards and know that the software will work out of the box.

=== Other things ===

After my comment on seeing the A1 board ("Look at all that space!"), our sea-board distributor retorted "You should see what they've done with it, later...".  The doctors told me they might not be able to reattach my jaw.

I really think that it will fit in a CD32 case.  By the size of the SX32, you might not have to remove the original mother-board...  That would be soooo cool!

Ahem.

It was good to see and hear a number of people happily showing renewed and even new interest.  One, an Apple II fan, was trying to set up AmiThlon for a friend on the north coast.

In summary:

I had a really good time.
I was not disappointed (except that we really didn't have anything newly interesting to ask Fleecy, but I still felt privileged).

Start saving for a lap-top, but don't rush.  Its still just a pipe-dream until the MiniITX board rocks the world.  I'd guess at when it will be mainstream, but putting target dates on software engineers only complicates matters.

Think about how much your gaming and Home Entertainment/Theatre system is worth for trade in.  If you're still in the buyers market, then maybe you will have a head start.

The AmigaOS is a slick as ever.  It looks wonderful.  Ross Vumbaca did a neat job of getting the Debian install working.  AmigaAnything under Doug's (excuse the lack of courteseys) leadership is making great in-roads, and really shows that it is our best ally by keeping close to the local developers.

And my development time during Uni. and the last few years has not been wasted.  ;-)

I was dileriously happy, somewhat smug, when I left the theatre almost a week ago, and I'm still revelling in it.
