Strange Monitor Behavior
« on: October 06, 2003, 09:29:23 PM »
Hello everyone, I'm finally back from a long absence and just got my computer back up and running.  The only problem is that the monitor is acting very strange.  I have an NEC MultiSync FE700 monitor which is acting like all the settings have been messed up.  The brightness of the screen seems to be on full, the screen size has shrunk and isn't square.  I've tried to bring up the settings screen, but when I press the settings button nothing happens at all.  Has anyone else ever had anything similar happen to them?  By the way, the picture quality is just fine and I've tried switching resolutions and such to no avail.  In the mean time I'm using my fuzzy old monitor.  :-)

Or the tube is on its way out. The reason the monitor appears bright is due to the "condensed" image on the screen.

Maybe its time for a new monitor / repair job?

How old is it ? Normally monitors come with a 3 year manufacturers warranty.

BTW, welcome back i was wondering where you had gone, how is the (AMOS replacement) programming language project  getting along? :-)

Thanks for the info, I'll probably have to take it to a repair shop.  It just turned 4 years old so I doubt any manufacturer warranty is still valid on it.

@GadgetMaster
Thanks!  It's good to be back.  I spent that last 4 months in military training so coding Mattathias hasn't really been possible, but I have tons of ideas on how to continue so it will be good to get back into programming this week.
