Hi,
in a couple of weeks I'm having a full week off, and can't think of any better way of spending my time than to do something with my Amigas.
I got an Amiga 4000 which is placed in a Micronik 4000 ISA tower (the first version), but I also recently bought a Mirage Power Tower for A4000 with Mediator and everything.
Personally I'm not keen on the Mirage tower, all to unstable in my opinion, and not enough room. That's why I'm going to install the Mediator board, in the Micronik tower, which I find quite better than the Mirage. Anyone done the same as I'm planning? I could use some advice :-)
The Mediator board uses a P9 connecter, and the PSU in the Micronik doesn't have one of those. But I have an PSU I don't use anymore, which has this connecter, so can I cut off this connecter and attach it to the Micronik PSU in any way?
I'm going to use a CyberStormPPC 060/233, but I have heard something about cooling the board to the max, or else I will break it. Which chips should I take extra care off? And by the way, would it be best to only install fastram on the cyberstorm, or also on the motherboard? Anyone tried installing more than 128 MB on a CyberStormPPC card? Is it possible?
I'm going to install a fan on the backplate of the tower, but what's best? Blowing air into the tower, or reverse the fan so heat comes out? I would like to make the computer as silent as possible, so could anyone recommend some lownoise fans?
Thank you for your time, and for your advice ;-)
