OctaMED SoundStudio V2 Resurrected ??
« on: February 13, 2003, 10:12:38 PM »
As most know, because we heard nothing from the katodev team for a very, very long time and having made many, many attempts to get a reply, we were forced to face the fact that, even with all their failed deadlines and promises, they have let us, and you, down badly.

HOWEVER, Gerd Frank of AmiAtlas fame has decided to take over work on V2, he is having to start from scratch, so give him pleny of time, but he assures us that, (unlike katodev), he will do his utmost to get a new Amiga V2 built and if it is possible, we won't have to wait until human beings step on Mars :)

However, if things do go badly, you 'will' be told and not kept in the dark as to the possible future of a new Amiga V2 release, so check this page every couple of Months from now on.

I actually bought every version of MED and OctaMED commercially released. I certainly miss using it, I haven't really touched the PC version.

Great news!  I wish them every success in their efforts.  Still use Sound Studio and would be excellent to see it make use of current sound-card technology.

Aaah... OctaMED... got me interested in the whole music making thing, which got me into the club industry, so really it's indirectly responsible for getting me my job which I love  - can't wait to see it again. If it's good enough it could tip the balance of me getting an A1 (unless it runs on classic of course :-) )

"Start from scratch"

I heard the sources was destroyed a while
ago, guess thats why he starts from scratch.

So either it will be a completely new program
with the name OSS, or someone is in for some heavy
reverseengineering.. :)
