New Joystick for Amiga.
« on: January 02, 2003, 12:10:18 PM »
You want a new and elegant joystick for your Amiga?
The Alloy features eight buttons on the right and a thumb button on the tip of the stick. (Not implemented in the Amiga version)  You can tell Interact really put some thought into the Alloy.
It's heavy, ensuring it won't tip over in all but the most extreme cases. It's also got a big footprint, about 14" by 10" for that perfect arcade feel, and there's a compartment in the underside to tuck away
the cord when not in use - a nice touch.  The buttons are almost identical to the ones in the arcade in look and feel. (They click! Woo hoo!) This joystick was made originally for the Dreamcast console, but now we can make it for the Amiga, we have some here working which makes full use of the cd32 pad buttons (all) with no emulation, drivers etc... the joystick comes with 12 months of warranty and
is in alluminium. Pick up the Alloy Arcade Stick (the metallic shimmer makes it an attention grabber) and show them what you can do.

Arcade-like buttons; solid construction; excellent performance, 9 buttons which
7 work in amiga, maded  in allumium, for all the Amiga models, plug and play....

The price will be around the 75 Euros.

if you are interested send a mail to ladraqua@jazzfree.com only if the people is interested we will make it.

you can see some image of this joystick and some more info soon in

Hmmm.. sorry to sound negative, but that looks awfull. Also I hate it when I'm forced to control directions with my left hand and press buttons with the right hand like a lot of control-pads do these days.

I still like the old arcade-joysticks best, but they are getting harder to find.

Regards,

Onno

I made an arcade style joystick using real arcade parts and a PSX controller.  I even used two joysticks and wired the second joystick to the buttons so I could play Robotron and Crazy Climiber on MAME like in the arcade.  Cost for the arcade parts (two 8-way sticks and 10 buttons) was a little more than $50.

My brother had one for his C= 64.  That was a nice joystick.    Well, I think that the Catweasle Flipper has the connectors for it, and drivers for Windowz.  I think that they will  make drivers for A1/OS 4 once OS 4 is released.

AWFULL? god i have this joystick here plugged in my cd32 and i use it in my amiga 1200 ppc also and works great, is superb, you can see some reviews about this joystick in internet for example in google search for: "Alloy Arcade" Dreamcast.
Yep this is not an 30 $ joystick i know it. But is the best joystick what i have tested never, and for this reason is here my Amiga joystick.

seems to be too much joystick for the amiga, sorry but I still think that amiga games are still stuck in the Atari 2600 joystick days, not to also mention, that joystick is not all that attractive
There was a time I can remember computers were fun...I miss my A1200.
