Amazingly, the CES website has been updated, and actually shows that Genesi will be exhibiting at CES.

I think this activity is really good sign. I know that a lot of people did not belive BBuck when he announced their intention to getting a booth at CES... well, now it's official.

But at the same time  I have to say this all makes me wonder what they are planing to SHOW to all those people that would justify  that $$$ spend to entry fees alone???

Ah well.. at least they afforded to be on Aachen (unlike OS4/AOne team) and now attend  CES. I hope they are having something that really will get visitors attention.   :-)

The CES is such a large and important show that I felt, upon
confirmation, that it is deserving of a news item.  We, as a
community, need something of this magnatude very badly.

Even the Anti-MOS guys have to understand this is a move outside the
community.  Something that can draw new talent in, and, more importantly, bring
in new customers.  This is the exact kind of thing a year ago that I
would have considered far-fetched, for MOS, AOS, or even AROS.

The community should keep an eye on what happens at CES.
Regards,
Targhan

New customers for what?  An unofficial "AmigaOS"??  What are they suppose to be attracted to?  An OS that emulates AmigaOS up to version 3.x??  Yeah, that will really get the crowds buying into a new system.

It was said previously that they were focusing on 4 specific shows during this coming year beginning with Cebit Germany in March.  Are you trying to suggest that they did not make the Aachen show due to finances?  I hope not, otherwise let's hear your proof.

>New customers for what?

eclipsis, their security software and much more important refreshing and getting new contacts to
other partners. That's why they have a team with Dr.
Alan Havemose, Dr. Richard Lipes, Helmut Jost,
Stéphane Donders, Emmanuel Benoit, Bernard
Hautbergue or Hélène Wintenberger.

Well these were the words of Alan Redhouse
(Eyetech does not have 10 000EUR for a show such
as ARC) or the Friedens.

Oh, I'm so impressed.   Name listing means nothing.  That's about as exciting as AmigaAnywhere for Pocket PC.

Yeah?  I must have missed that one.  If it came from Ann.lu I'm sure I missed it.  Of course these boards are about as full of MOS crap these days.  I think it's about time for me to retire the Amiga idea and move on.   History is history and that's where every new incarnation of Amiga (Pegasos included) will stay.  I thought it would be fun to watch the new OS4 roll out on semi modern hardware.  But it's not fun anymore.  This market has the biggest bunch of loosers left.  It's like buzzards picking a carcas for the last bit of meat.   I've really become disgusted with both sides of the equation.

Exactly that why Genesi will be on CES, cebit, cebit
Australia and Comdex next year. To introduce their
new products.

It was in the AmigaONe ML.

Back at you asshole.... Why don't you fund your own MOS site.  No wonder people are ashamed to admit being part of the Amiga "community".

Wow, sure some rancor here. Not at all like the site owner's modus operandi. As long as I've observed Wayne he has been respectful of people with viewpoints different than his. When Phoenix was getting started Wayne was definitely against the idea that a developer group should not be pro-Gateway, yet he did run some Phoenix news and announcements. And we got in touch and he was not hostile though I could see he was conflicted. Later I met Wayne at St Louis 2000 and though it was tense for awhile we both got over that and had some great talk.

But this is a Genesi at CES thread, so...

I think it's a thrilling step to see people with Amiga origins go for one of the huge shows. I've seen some real energy and drive from Bill Buck and Ralph and others who are working to develop and market. In our post-Gateway community this effort to -get things done- and achieve a path -from- Amiga backwards-compatibility -to- infotech/embedded devices really impresses me and many of the remaining Phoenix people.

We bled bad from Amiga Inc's policies involving separate development channels, and St Louis 2000 partnership agreements came to naught. So I'm pleased that we can begin to participate with Genesi on sales/distribution, marketing and web presence, and development. A bunch of us are going to CES to meet and work with the Genesi team, and it feels great to be acknowledged and accepted!

For us the path has been circuitous, but at last it seems we can participate in an Amiga-like effort with partners Who Attend Shows, Spend Money on marketing and development, and seem to have some paths defined for the future that makes the transition easier.

Kind of a funny way of making an announcement, but it beats writing and reading ABOUT SO AND SO COMPANY press releases, and it seemed to fit the better part of the thread's flow here... :  }
