Although I'm happy to see Carl and Rebol get a little publicity, this article seems like a re-hash of ideas that people had 5 or 6 years ago. Simple, ubiquitous computing will always be the dream, but as long as we have juggernaut companies like Microsoft who favor proprietary (and often inferior) technology over generally open, accepted standards, it will remain a dream.
And to a degree, this XNet stuff is already here. I remember at least one company that makes a Java applet for streaming video. It works quite well, although obviously not on current Amigas. :-( Microsoft built their version of XNet applets years ago. Does anyone remember ActiveX? Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack.....
