Aweb news update
« on: August 11, 2002, 12:41:58 AM »
Bugzilla has come online at a secret location for burn-in testing by coders and betatesters. Later it will be open to the public so you can see which bugs and new features are being worked on.

Change: Slightly reorganized the website for increased browsing pleasure. :-) Thanks to Gabriele Favrin for the work.

This looks to be the most organised and largest group of developers for an Amiga browers ever. Keep up the good work guys! I hope to see an improved Aweb on OS4 in the future:-)

A modern miggie browser would render my XP box useless. :) I like the progress so far!

By the time AWeb reaches "todays modern standard" it will be outdated again! they cant keep up unless a lot of ACTIVE developers join on it.

Well standards are always changing so it'll be pretty hard to always be on par with them. But if we can compare it to the functionality and stability of Mozzilla - then it will most likly take several years.

I believe Mozzilla took a few, and correct me if im wrong but the have, a LOT of developers. So dont expect an Mozilla or IE compeditor anytime soon.

Unless of course its ported to Linux and promoted a bit as a light weight browser :). That could be very popular on the linux front and spur development - then different teams can share source and so on.

Oh! I see. No.

Not really a betting man myself.

Just wanted an inkling of how long it could take, having no idea about such things.

It does seem that they need more developers. Maybe after they release an enhanced version with some changes they could put a message in the readme asking for developers to join in the effort.
