Intel Announces new Transmeta killer CPUs

Intel has announced two new CPUs which use the same amount of power as Transmeta based chips, however these CPUs are 2-4x more powerful at the same clock speed.  Could this be the fatal blow to Transmeta or will someone (AMD) save them?
