Red's Retro Computing - Monstrous drive inventory sourced!
« on: April 18, 2009, 10:41:49 PM »
Red's Retro Computing has sourced a HUGE inventory of thousands of drives of various types!

SCSI drives & cables:
You name it, we probably have it! A company named "Drive Guys" apparently went under and ultimately the SCSI stock found it's way to Red's Retro! In the coming days and weeks this stock will make it's way to our web shop!

Cables? Yes, we have a fair stock of cables and adapters that will be going online!

Floppy drives:
Have a need for a 3.5" floppy drive for that Catweasel? We have a jaw dropping stock of them, all tested and guaranteed!

Have a need for a 5.25 floppy drive for that Catweasel? Yes, we have an amazing stock of these too!

Stay tuned, Red's Retro is becoming your drive source ...  :-D
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

You piqued my interest here - I was looking at a Catweasel (MK2) for my A4000T (via clockport).  Now I know it says on Jens' webpage what it supposedly supports.  Now, in real life, what formats can I really make with it?

I see I can do D64->5.25 (and 1581, but I can do that now anyway).

But can I do an IIgs disk image to 3.5?  Or an old CP/M image to 5.25?

Hey Jim,

I need a 5.25" drive to use with my PCI Catweasel that will write back *.D64 files to 5.25" floppies.  The one I stripped from an old PC doesn't work.

If you find one then let me know.

Cheers,

Darrin

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe "out of the box" support for the MK2 is to the current level of the MK4. Here is the supported drives per the manual.

I am hopeful to have many capable drives. Do you have a color preference?

I had three 5.25" drives and found that only one of them worked with the Catweasel (Zorro version).  If you want me to look up the make/model let me know.

I appreciate that, but it should not be needed  :-)

@ redrumloa:

Can any of these 5.25 inch floppy drive models read the flipped over back side of a C64 floppy disk???
