Blizzard 1260 battery
« on: March 25, 2009, 11:38:02 AM »
Is the clock battery on the 1260 a standard type ie one that I can change for a standard cr2032 holder/battery like on a PC mobo or is it a rechargable type like the battery on an A4000 mobo?

I think some might be the rechargable type, but on mine it's a standard CR2032 - however it's soldered down so a little bit of surgery is required to replace it. If you're not pretty handy with a soldering iron I'd recommend leaving it in somewhere to get replaced, and preferable replace it with a CR2032 battery holder so the next time you can do it yourself.

Also, a diode failed on my 1260 not so long ago, meaning that when I replaced the battery, the new battery was dead in a few days.

By default the B1260 uses a VL2020 which is a rechargeable type. Don't use a CR20xx without a diode!

I have a rechargeable lithium ion 2032 but its rated at 3.6v will this matter as the battery on the 1260 is 3v?

Absolutely! Double check yours to make sure! My board is a DCE one, so maybe it's only phase5 boards that have the VL batteries?
