A1200 + Easycap
« on: March 31, 2009, 12:18:16 AM »
I dont know if anyone has tried using the Easycap USB capture device for pc .

Anyways , unfortunatly due to lack of space on my desk , i can't use my 1084S , so instead i am using the Easycap USB capture device and have connected my A1200 using composite .

Ok , picture comes , its in colour and i have sound .

Sound is fine , but the picture really doesnt look all that nice . Yes it is useable , but its dull and ever so slighly blurry .

Is a horrible picture , probably just as bad if not worse than RF normal using composite ?

I use a Avermedia AverTV Hybrid Express Slim TV card in my laptop as screen for my Amiga 1200 when I go to the Commodore GG meeting in Maarssen.

The picture is always blurry when using composite or RF.

What you could do is buying an Indivision A1200 from Amigakit, Red's store and Vesalia. This thing is a scandoubler and flickerfixer.

When you have this, you can connect the Amiga 1200 to your PC monitor.

The picture will be as good as your 1084S monitor.

Do not play games with your Easycap USB capture device, because the screen update is slow. It is better to use an Internal TV card in your PC, because it updates the sreen in realtime.

Or make yourself the S-VHS hack (IIRC, there is a version on Aminet) and use the Amiga trough it.

S-VHS is way better than plain composite and very cheap to achieve.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Thanks for the ideas :)

I think the scandoubler/flicker fixer thing will prob be expensive although it will give a perfect display .

The s-video hack seems pretty cool too .

The cheapest and easiest prob would be to find some place to stuff the 1084s somewhere ...

Hmmmm desicions desicions
