What Amiga collection items are there?
« on: March 05, 2009, 11:26:18 PM »
I posted here because couldn't find a thread more appropriate.

While I wait for eventual appearance of AmigaOS/MorphOS for Macs Minis, I try to collect some gadget Amiga goods, software, whatever.

So I kindly ask you for suggestions.  I mean anything solid, a reminder of the Amiga franchise (it is a franchise already :-))  I tried to get a t-shirt but the one found on ebay has a wrong logo that sucks, maybe due to the IP.  My point is there are very, very few items to purchase (to my knowledge), actually I do not know what's out there else.  All I got is AmiKit CD, AmigaForever, some AmigaFuture issue, that's all.  Except for the hardware itself (and OS4 box), are there any other Amiga items to get brand new?

Thanks for any ideas really.  I got horny on this while keep waiting for a few months about this MacMini outcome.
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

Are you talking about legacy Commodore, Escom or Amiga Technologies Amiga goods - jeez, they're literally everywhere (many of it in landfills I surmise - yes, we're really just a silly and short sighted society we Americans)!!

But there's plenty of tangible goods left thanks to hoarders and those with somewhat of a vision to be discovered yet. Although I've never seen as much of this with Commodore as I have Atari. Promo stuff? Hardware? Software? Literature? Keychains? Mags? T-shirts? Bumper stickers? Coffee mugs? Hats? What is it you're looking for exactly? I've sold many of my duplicates, but probably have at least one of everything left above. Included many, many rare and exotic American Amiga mags and every issue of AmigaWorld and Amazing Computing ever published. I swear, there's literally a library of classic Amiga reads over here - maybe that's why some of this stuff seems (almost) current to me. lol

Im my experience, Amiga promo stuff is somewhat uncommon.  The little bit I found on EBay wasn't even listed with computers, let alone Amiga's. (A Commodore '4000 reasons to own an Amiga' pin, and an enameled brass Amiga keychain)
Software Hut has a feww oddbal items (Amiga playing cards, etc)

Edit...
save2600: WOW, and I thought I was an Amiga pack-rat!

Here in the DC area, I saw a guy wearing a vintage Commodore jacket last weekend at a club. Damn near wanted to mug the dude.

Actually I meant all Amiga items/gadgets, but not the vintage ones, I meant something new actually (being made currently).  So not the legacy ones.

Any above except hardware, not the Amigas Amiga, anything except.  And software, yes but a solid pack, not just a download.    Also I know I might make like T-shirts, mugs by myself.  But this is definitely no fun. Old stuff, yes, I might get it on an ebay... but I like the smell of a factory,  I wanna get something brand new and go.  Like AmiKit CD.

This is exactly why you cannot find a new T-shirt with the original Amiga logo.  But there are some ways around, look at this iMica, Amy or AROS names.  Actually it reminds me of this Panasonix, or Nokla fake cellphones made by CECT in China LOL.

EDIT* cut off some false statement

Also by saying there's a franchise I meant MorphOS, AROS plus all hardware for it, xUAE also.  BTW your avatar ideally serves as an addition to your statements :-)  Does this creature have a name?? Is this a pet of yours?
