a600 display issue
« on: February 21, 2009, 02:29:00 PM »
hello once again everyone,
i recently aquired a 600 but on plugging it in and loading workbench i noticed the colours dont display correctly for the first 10min or so until the machine "warms up". The border of workbench instead of appearing blue, appears purple and if i load a game, say for instance turrican 2, the likes of the waterfalls in the background are multicolour. i assume the internal modulator is shot?

it does clear up and display perfectly after this initial 10min "warm up" though

It is possibly the modulator, yes, but could be other things.

Do you have an extrenal modulator (A520) from an Amiga 500 you can connect up and try?

Failing that you could try the composite out jack, though I am unsure if this is just B&W on an A600.

If this proves your modulator is faulty, I would get a SCART cable and connect up to TV that way (if you are in Europe)

Good luck.
