mkick woes
« on: February 20, 2009, 09:05:43 AM »
Well, I've read the documentation, installed the required library, and all I get when I attempt to run mkick or any other of the executables distributed with it on my Amiga 2000 result in this upon execution:

Code: [Select]

__________________________________________
|System Request====================|[]|[]|
|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯|
| Software error - task held          |  |
|  Finish ALL disk activity           |  |
| Select CANCEL to reset/debug        |  |
|  _______                  ________  |  |
| | Retry |                | Cancel | |__|
|  ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯                  ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯  |[]|
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

But I'm not doing anything with my disks when this happens!
Any ideas?

That means the task/system has crashed. It's the equivalent of the Suspend/Reboot requester under >=2.0. It tells you to wait for disk activity to finish because if the system goes down completely during a read/write operation, FFS disks can become invalidated.

Not sure why it's happening, though.

Well, is there any good softkickers that work on a  1.3 machine?
