Thinking of selling A500 setup...
« on: February 13, 2009, 10:51:51 PM »

I'm thinking of selling my Amiga 500 setup...  I'm debating selling it as a bundle or if separate items would be better...

Setup consists of Amiga 500, RAM expansion board, External Floppy, Supra Turbo 28 accelerator, mouse, bunch of software w/ many in original box, and a 1084S monitor.

Would breaking it up be more attractive on ebay?  Do bundles sell better or turn off most "collectors"?

Just curious on others thoughts...

Thanks.

As this forum is very diverse in our locations to say the least and experience notwithstanding, if it's $$$ you're after... breaking up the system will be the most logical solution for you.

If you're not into gouging classic computer users, you could hope for a semi-local buyer that will take the entire lot off your hands at a "decent" price. Whatever you define or feel "decent" is. No muss, no fuss. No overblown ePay and ScamPal fees, hassle of properly packaging things up, lugging and making countless trips to the post office, dealing with international buyers, customs forms and international buyer impatience.

Bundles DO turn off most of us collectors (we ARE a cheap lot) as we do not want to pay $xx for postage on extraneous goods where the item(s) we're really after should only cost $x to ship. And most of us already have dozens, if not boxes of extra duplicate Amiga stuff anyway.

Bottom line: if you break it up, you'll end up getting "more money". As a package, generally speaking - you're stuff will be worth less.

Where, in general terms, do you live?

Your system, the Turbo 28 (in combination with fast ram), would be fast and fairly capable as is.

If you live beyond driving distance, I would only be interested in the Turbo 28.
