Unidentified memory module

I have a 168 pin memory module.
And i do not know the manufacturer or the size of the module.
It has 16 chips marked:
SEC KOREA 931
KM44V16104CK-6
VFF479B2
And two chips marked:
SDT 74FCT
163244CPA
L9917M

Do anyone of you guys know how big that module is?

It looks like it should fit on standard 168 pin sickets. however, it do not fit. the middle of the tree notches in the board is slightly miss aligned. I suspect it is a server ram chip with ECC support.

So to find total capacity, multiply how many chips are on the module by 8MB: (16Mbit * 4bits) / 8bits per byte = 8MB (not Mb)

They are DIMMs (168pins, data/address lines on both sides), EDO (refresh listed in above pages) and a neophyte would say that they could either have been used in various "servers" or PowerMacs.

However, they're also 3.3Volts, which tells me they were *NOT* used in PowerMacs, as they would have fried since they only used 5V modules :-)

Thus "server" RAM.


The "other" chips (74FCT 163244CPA) are inconsequential:

16x244 are bus buffers for buffered modules (=server and workstation flavor, also in PCI PowerMacs).

The middle notch tells whether it's 3.3V (centered between contacts) or 5V (shifted towards the other notch). 163244 buffers usually mean 3.3V.

BTW, I have EDO DIMMs (4MB->32MB) for 9xxx series PowerMacs. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks, but it's got 360 MB already but has grown a bit sluggish after upgrading Jaguar to Tiger - yes, that ancient machine is running a (somewhat) current OS. :-D So 64 and 128 MB modules only. ;-)

Depending on how many you got and the postage required I'd offer up to 8€/module - I wouldn't mean to rip you off, but the 9500 is little more than a toy. :-) If you'd like a swap I can take a look of what's left of PC133 (?) modules.

Sorry, no PC133 modules worth mentioning left (just a couple of 64 MBs)...

I'm in Germany. Germany -> Norway would go for 1.25€, so it might be worth it. I couldn't find actual postage on posten.no - hmm. :-?

I have found another 168 pin memory module.
This one is twice the height of other modules.
and it holds 16 chips on each side.

Chips are marked:
SEC KOREA 749
KM44S4020CT-G10
UQ1489DC
16 such chips on each side. and a total of 32 chips.
The middle notch is situated at the same position of "normal" 168 pin memory modules.

Anyone got any idea of the size of this module?

Sounds like standard SDRAM, either PC66 or PC100. Each chip is 2Mx4Bitx2Banks, so 32 make it 64 MB.

an update.

according to this site.
KMM372F1600 is a 128MB Module EDO ECC Buffered 50ns 168-Pin.
However.
In the list it is named AK-6 and is 3.3V
But the module i have is named CK-6 and fit the descriptions for a 5v module.
