Interesting ROM replacement for all miggies?
«

Hi there, i've found out this thread in a German forum.
http://www.a1k.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13078&page=3
It looks like it's about a kind of EPROM that could store different selectable Kickstarts plus having enough space for OS inside of it... what could improve performance?
Quite interesting, specially for Amigas without HD or CD32.
Did anybody know about this project?
I'm not good on german at all, so if somebody could translate the main idea of it would be really cool.
Cheers

Essentially it's a replacement for the standard Kickstart where you can either use the 1 MB space to select from 2 ROMs or use the extra 512 KB to store stuff you regularly need (drivers, OS modules, ...). Looks pretty neat. :-)

it's pretty simple/clever.
Two modes:
1. a kickstart switcher - keep 2 kickstarts, and switch between them
2. a "big" kickstart; e.g. a 1 mb sized kickstart which allows you to have not only to have the normal KS stuff... but to add any other libs you want to be available at boot.
very neat :-) I might need to get one :-)

I think they said it's an 8MB EPROM and something about having OS installed on it... At least the basic stuff...
