My employer actually produces embedded hardware that boots from Compact Flash cards, and have extensively tested many, many cards. The difference in quality, reliability and read/write speed across brands (and even sometimes within a brand) is remarkable.
We have found Kingston cards to be the best for reliability and read speed. In fact we've not found any other brand match them for speed, but I don't think the CF card is the bottle neck when using it in an A1200, so that might be less of a concern ;-)
