A1200 PCMCIA&CF card problem - "Card is write-protected"
« on: November 09, 2008, 11:09:51 PM »
Hi,

I'm using a Sandisk PCMCIA CF card-reader and a Canon 8MB CF card in my A1200.

When I insert the card and run PrepCard, it shows that all is well and the card is recognised, however when I try and format the card I get an error: "The card is write-protected".

Since it's a CF card there is no hardware write-protect tab, so what do I need to do to be able to prepare it for use on the A1200?

Cheers,

Mike.

You can't use PrepCard with a CF card.

What you need is compactflash.device and fat95 to read fat-formatted cf cards.
There already was a thread about it here on amiga.org.
Read this.
