A3000 custom chips
« on: October 15, 2008, 12:37:01 AM »
Soooooo...in the process of preparing my A3000 desktop for sale, I came across a stash of custom chips I had long forgot about. It looks like I have a couple of WD SCSI chips, (2) sets of v2.04 ROMs, (2) sets of -04 DMAC & -07 RAMSEY chips (I could have used these when trying to get the A3640 board working) and a -07 BUSTER.

I inserted the first set of 04 DMAC & -07 RAMSEY and I'm now running "amigatest" on a loop. Since both RAM and graphics are tested using this program, any problems should be revealed. If there is a more direct test I can do on these chips, please let me know. I intend to sell them separately.

Thanks,

Jeff

Kickstart roms v3.1 and an A3640 v3.1 card will work just fine in an A3000.

I am not sure about the pre 3.1 roms requirements though.

In some cases, that would be  DMAC -04 & RAMSEY -07. But, more important is Kickstart 3.1 ROMs as was pointed out.

I will need to test my chips further, however. Once I'm satisfied, they're going up on eBay.

Here is the first auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230300745963

NOTE: I am selling one as a set and the other set will be listed separately. I will need more time for photos, though.

Other listings to follow soon.
