Hard times eh?

Know what you mean but not really. When I got back into the Amiga scene a few months ago, I started buying up all sorts of stuff that I could never afford back in the old days with dreams of creating a really powerful Amiga

I've finally realised that all I want to do is play games and demo's and anything else is distracting me from that. Its time to set this stuff free again for its next owner.

My final spec is ..

Amiga A1200, 3.0 ROMs, Apollo 68040/33MHz, 32MB RAM, IDEFix97, Indivision AGA, CF Adaptor, 4GB CF Card, PCMCIA network with Easynet and a slimline DVD drive.

That sounds VERY familiar :-) Since I came ack to Amiga 2 years ago I've owned about everything there is in the Amiga world, but I'm back to 2 machines now (still pretty powerful, but more than enough for me...)

I guess if you don't have anything connected that requires 3.1, then you don't need it. I always wanted it for my A1200 because of the autoconfig dealy that my accelerator got from it. Maybe someone else knows if it has any other advantages.

I'd be curious to know as well. Under 3.1, the delay is about 10 seconds and the rest of the boot is 2-3 seconds once the CF starts going. I googled the difference between 3.0 & 3.1 recently but couldnt find much info.

i hear that. all the times i've wasted evenings and weekends nailing down missing librarys, hardware issues, continuous workbench reinstalls... you all know the drill... :-D  its why i sold up the first time round...

and the machine i use the most is an A1200 kitted out with a basic blizzard card, compact flash adapter, 4Gb CF card, and a pcmcia nic card. to turn a phrase, "it just works". all my others "don't quite work as expected yet".

A500, A600, A1200x3, A2000, A3000, A4000 & a CD32.
and probably just like the rest of you, crates full of related "treasure" for the above XD
