Using a floppy from A500 in A1200 - or emulation?

Just a simple question - is it possible to us the internal floppy from an Amiga 500 to a Amiga 1200?

And how about emulation, reading ADF-files from a flash card - anyone have experience of this and is there any commercial released products to buy or maybe a nice freeware design to build?

Isn't the A500's taller though.
I'm sure the case of the A1200 doesn't close if you use an A500 drive.

The case is not a problem - I have only the main board and I will make a custom case for it. But I must verify the function first and the easiest way to boot the board must be a floppy (and I have a spare A500 floppy laying around).

I had an A500 floppy in my A1200.  It didn't physically fit, but it worked just fine.  Plug and play, really.

hm, there might be some problems if you got Escom A1200.
