A1200 + Amitek Hawk
« on: September 17, 2008, 01:11:28 PM »
Hi there, i would like to know if fitting an FPU into my Amitek RAM expansion would be worth the price.

I believe i need a 68882 plcc plus the oscillator.
So if is worth the effort where could i get it and what kind of programs aside raytracing would use it?
Will i get some overall performance improvement using OS?

Thank you!

I don't You will see any improvement in performance for applications that aren't built to use the FPU. As it is purely designed for floating point math, there are no reason for integer counting apps to use it anyway. The operating system is one of them...
